Your privacy,
in detail.
A clear explanation of what Soda Tracker stores, how it uses that information, and the choices you control.

What the app stores
Soda Tracker saves the dates you log, drink types, sizes, quantities, and daily volume totals in a local database on your device. It uses those records and your configured prices to calculate your statistics and estimated spending.
Your settings are also stored locally. These include your display name, custom drink labels, sizes and prices, drink visibility and ordering, currency, volume units, calendar preferences, demo mode, and reminder preferences. Your display name is a local personalization setting; it does not create an account.
Reminders and permissions
Morning and evening reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. The app reads your device’s time zone so reminders can follow local time, and uses local records to decide which reminders to schedule. It does not need your GPS location.
You can change reminder times or turn reminders off in Settings, and manage notification permission in your device settings. Notification content may be visible on your lock screen depending on your system settings.
Backups you control
Export backup in Settings creates a JSON file containing your stored history and settings, including your display name and reminder preferences. You choose where to save it using your device’s file picker. Import backup reads a file you select and replaces the app’s local history and settings after confirmation.
Exported backups are readable JSON files; Soda Tracker does not encrypt them. Keep them somewhere you trust. If you save a backup to a cloud drive or share it, that destination receives the file under its own policies. Deleting app data does not delete exported files or copies held by your backup provider.
Full History purchases
On supported platforms, Full History purchases and purchase restoration use Apple’s App Store or Google Play billing. The app receives product information, purchase status, and store-provided transaction and verification data to unlock access. Soda Tracker does not receive your payment card details.
The store processes payments and maintains purchase records under its own privacy policy. Restoring a purchase restores access to Full History; it does not restore your drink records. Older records remain stored locally when they are outside the free viewing window.
Keeping, changing, and deleting your data
You can edit or delete individual daily records and change your preferences in the app. Records are not automatically deleted when they become more than 30 days old. To remove all local data, use your operating system’s app-data removal controls where available, or remove the app and its locally stored data. Exact removal behavior depends on your platform.
Manage device backups and exported JSON files separately if you also want those copies removed. Because the app does not keep a server copy of your history, the developer cannot recover it for you. Export a backup before changing devices or removing app data if you want to keep your records.
Demo mode
Demo mode generates deterministic sample history on your device so you can explore the app without replacing your real records. Export backup uses your stored real history, even while demo mode is enabled.
